Recognizing the urgent need for COVID-19 testing, Blake relocated the specialized laboratory from California to El Paso, Texas, providing essential services to the underserved community.

Under Blake’s leadership, the laboratory has become a beacon of quality healthcare, offering comprehensive testing and diagnostics. With a focus on progressive oncologic care within molecular pathology, Blake is revolutionizing cancer diagnostics and treatment options, leveraging advanced technologies and collaborations with physicians, healthcare experts and hospital executives.

Dr. Hubert H. Fenton

Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director

Meet Dr. Hubert Fenton, an accomplished physician with a specialization in anatomic and clinical pathology. With 16 years of experience in both private practice and academic settings, Dr. Fenton has established himself as a highly-skilled pathologist and a dedicated educator.

Dr. Fenton pursued his academic journey by completing a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he laid the foundation for his future medical career.

Following his medical degree, Dr. Fenton embarked on rigorous training in anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP) at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital. He further honed his expertise through a surgical pathology fellowship at the same renowned institution. Driven by his passion for gastrointestinal (GI) and hepatic pathology, he pursued a second fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Linda Farrell at the University of California San Francisco.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fenton has held prominent positions within the academic field. As an Associate Professor and Director of the Surgical Fellowship program at The University of Colorado, he played a pivotal role in shaping the education and training of aspiring pathologists. Additionally, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, contributing his expertise to furthering medical education.

Dr. Fenton’s dedication to his profession goes beyond his clinical work and teaching responsibilities. He has actively contributed to the field through his scholarly publications, focusing on topics related to his clinical interests. His research and academic contributions reflect his commitment to advancing the understanding and treatment of pathological conditions.

Hannah J. Warring

Director of Laboratory Services

Meet Hannah J. Warring, a laboratory services administrator with 18 years of experience in both private and hospital laboratory settings. In addition to their technical expertise, Hannah’s extensive experience in managerial roles has given her a unique skill set for overseeing laboratory operations. Hannah facilitates a leadership role in overseeing the overall operations at Exova Diagnostics.

Hannah is ASCP certified in Histotechnology and has a proven track record of passing multiple CAP inspections with zero deficiencies and zero recommendations. They have conceptualized and developed a histology training program for the Medstar Health Network, overseeing its implementation and pilot program by collaborating with hospital administration, multi-hospital leadership, and union leaders.

Hannah is Lean-Six Sigma focused, always seeking out new ways to streamline processes and improve quality management systems. Hannah has made significant contributions to her organization and the field of laboratory services as a whole.

George Sherrod

Technical Supervisor of Histology

Meet George Sherrod III, an accomplished and certified Histologist with 36 years of experience in private, hospital and reference laboratory settings. In addition to his professional knowledge and technical expertise, George possesses substantial managerial and supervisory experience. George currently manages the Histology and ENFD operations at Exova Diagnostics.

George began his career in histology as a graduate of the accredited and reputable Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Throughout his career, he has successfully completed multiple CAP inspections with overwhelming success, furthermore, George has participated in CAP inspections at medical facilities throughout the country while simultaneously providing leadership and guidance to entry-level and experienced histologists.

With an optimistic attitude and dynamic approach to success, George has dedicated his professional contributions to the success of Exova Diagnostics as the leader in reference lab testing in the South West region of the U.S.

Ana Valdez

In her capacity as Director of Human Resources, Ana leverages her comprehensive understanding of HR principles and best practices. Roxann has a proven track record of success in a variety of accounting and administrative roles, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement. Her extensive experience has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies of finance and accounting, as well as a strong ability to lead and manage teams.

Roxann’s expertise in financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, and process improvement has been instrumental in driving the success of Exova Diagnostics. Our molecular team is comprised of experienced scientists and technicians who specialize in molecular diagnostics. They are well-versed in utilizing advanced techniques and cutting-edge technologies to analyze genetic material and identify specific biomarkers. With their expertise, they play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely molecular testing results that aid in the diagnosis and management of various diseases.

Our histology team is comprised of highly trained laboratory professionals who plays a crucial role in the study of tissue samples. The primary function of a histotechnologist is to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They work closely with pathologists to provide them with high-quality prepared slides for examination, discussing any special requirements or concerns related to specific cases.
